The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

Modern diesel engines depend on electronic sensors to track operating conditions and help the engine control system respond properly. The Cummins Temperature Sensor 2013–2024: OEM 6490019 is designed to monitor temperature levels within the engine system and send this information to the engine control module (ECM). With accurate temperature readings, the engine management system can make adjustments that help keep the engine operating within its normal temperature range.

  • The Cummins Temperature Sensor OEM 6490019 measures temperature levels within the engine system and relays this data to the ECM.

  • The engine control module uses this temperature information to regulate various functions such as fuel delivery and engine timing.

  • Monitoring temperature helps protect the engine from overheating by allowing the system to trigger alerts or protective responses when needed.

  • Temperature sensors also assist the engine management system in adjusting operating parameters as the engine warms up or cools down.

  • OEM 6490019 is designed for compatibility with Cummins engines used between 2013 and 2024, matching the required sensor specifications.

  • Accurate temperature readings help support overall engine monitoring and diagnostic systems.

Reliable sensor data plays an important role in how modern diesel engines operate and protect critical components. The Cummins Sensor Temperature 2013–2024: OEM 6490019 provides the proper monitoring capability needed for the engine management system to track operating temperatures. Customers looking for dependable replacement engine sensors can find this OEM-compatible temperature sensor available from Tamerx Diesel Parts.

Temperature sensors are important components in modern diesel engines, monitoring exhaust and engine temperatures to help control emissions systems and engine performance. Sensors used in systems such as the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) help the engine control module regulate regeneration cycles and emissions treatment. While these sensors are designed for durability, their lifespan can vary depending on operating conditions and maintenance.

  • In many vehicles, temperature sensors can last several years or many miles under normal driving conditions.

  • Constant exposure to high exhaust temperatures can gradually wear down internal sensor components over time.

  • Soot buildup or contamination in the exhaust system may affect sensor accuracy and shorten its lifespan.

  • Wiring damage, corrosion, or loose electrical connections can also lead to sensor failure.

  • Engine problems that cause excessive heat or improper combustion may place additional stress on temperature sensors.

  • Physical damage from road debris or improper installation can also reduce sensor durability.

Symptoms of a failing temperature sensor may include warning lights, incorrect temperature readings, regeneration problems, or emissions system faults. Regular inspections and prompt diagnosis of fault codes can help identify sensor issues early and keep the engine and aftertreatment system operating properly.
