DURAMAX DIESEL INJECTOR IDENTIFICATION GUIDE: LLY, LBZ, LMM ENGINES

DURAMAX DIESEL INJECTOR IDENTIFICATION GUIDE LLY, LBZ, and LMM ENGINES
Injectors appear to be similar on the outside, but they differ on the inside since they were created and calibrated for each specific model, as anyone who has seen under the hood of a truck or van powered by a Duramax engine can attest.
The injector might have refused to connect to the electrical harness at some point. When GM doesn't always supply engine identification information, we've encountered issues where the injector supplied and the model year of the car or van identified by the V.I.N. don't match.
Engineers at Bosch have a straightforward fix for problems brought on by misaligned injectors. The injector connector "keys" can be used to accurately identify the year and model of the engine you are working on.
The connector key is used to identify the engines. To be sure, you can also look up the V.I.N.'s eighth digit.
