Mack Introduces MP7 Super Econodyne Powertrain

Mack MP7 Super Econodyne Engine
The MP7 405 Super Econodyne powertrain will be able to generate 405 horsepower and 1,560 pound-feet of torque, in order to improve fuel efficiency.
This powertrain from Mack, the MP7, carries the company's Super Econodyne certification and may save 4 percent on fuel when paired with an automatic manual transmission.
The MP7 405SE delivers the recognizable Mack power and performance that our clients have come to expect from an integrated Mack Pedigree Powertrain, but with even better fuel efficiency, according to Ray Horton, director of product testing at Mack.
Horton continued, "It allows our customers to maximize payloads, save on fuel, and enhance their return on investment without sacrificing power."
The Super Econodyne technology interacts with Mack's automated manual transmission, drive axles, and special software to increase fuel efficiency.
The powertrain, according to Mack, is designed for regional and bulk haul applications up to 80,000 pounds on flat terrain and up to 70,000 pounds on inclines.
