Paccar Unveils 2021 MX Engines

MX Engine from Paccar
The T680 Next Generation truck model and the Paccar MX-11 and Paccar MX-13 engines for Kenworth’s Class 8 truck portfolio have been a fantastic addition to Paccar’s selection.
According to Paccar officials, both engines' internal designs were changed to increase fuel efficiency by up to 2.4 percent in the MX-13 and 3.4 percent in the MX-11.
A higher horsepower rating of up to 445 hp at 1,700 lb-ft of torque at 900 RPM can now be obtained for the Paccar MX-11. The Paccar MX-13 has 1,850 lb-ft of torque and 510 horsepower at 1000 RPM.
Officials from Paccar claim that the engines can be used in conjunction with Paccar DX-40 axles, Kenworth predictive cruise control, and the 12-speed TX-12 transmission for increased performance.
The engines have enhanced combustion and multi-pulse fuel injection. A more efficient, more compact turbocharger, according to the manufacturer, boosts power and improves responsiveness. Additionally, a redesigned piston design incorporates extra features to reduce frictional losses.
The system is completed by Paccar's cutting-edge aftertreatment technology, which reduces nitrogen oxides and particulates even more.
The engines were also tweaked to improve reliability. A better fully-encapsulated engine harness provides weather protection while reducing the amount of connections between the engine and the truck. To strengthen parts and increase rigidity, the engine's internal structure underwent a number of modifications.
Paccar now fastens primary and secondary fuel filters to the engine rather than the chassis to make fuel filter replacements more effective and a 12-volt fuel heater is now provided as standard for improved performance in cold weather.
Officials from Paccar claim that the major component warranty of five years or 500,000 miles, as well as the extended service intervals of up to 75,000 miles for both the oil and fuel filter, result in the best-in-class performance and service intervals.
